Competition Brings Rise In Faculty Salaries
In four years, tuition and fees have more than doubled at the University of Illinois. So has the number of employees who bring home big paychecks. In four years, the number of people working at the UI who earn $200,000 a year or more has climbed from about 40 people to more than 100. Public universities are competing against private universities for faculty and administrators. Two-year colleges are competing with four-year colleges.
