Advocates Blast Congress' Lack Of Funding For Campus Security

Almost a year after the deadliest shooting on a college campus, Congress is still haggling over legislation that would provide federal dollars to colleges and universities to help pay for improved campus security. Advocates for safer campuses and improved security are frustrated that Congress has not acted to provide federal aid. "Yesterday would have been too late for many of the parents, who have students at schools or are burying their children," said Jonathan Kassa, executive director of Security on Campus, a nonprofit group whose mission is to make colleges safer.
