Transgendered Students Struggle To Fit In At College

At many of America’s first-tier women’s colleges, the growth of the trans community has led to campus workshops on transgender identity. Which doesn’t mean it isn’t sometimes a struggle to be trans or gender-nonconforming on campus. Many trans students feel themselves to be excluded or isolated at women’s schools and at coed colleges;147 colleges and universities nationwide now include “gender identity and expression” in their nondiscrimination policies. Many colleges now have Transgender Days of Remembrance in memory of victims of gender-identity-related hate crimes. Read more at:
