Recent college graduates are testing the viability of their backup plans as the recession puts the squeeze on job opportunities. According to a spring study conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, just 19.7 percent of 2009 graduates who applied for a job were hired, compared with 26 percent in 2008 and 51 percent in 2007.
