Michigan's college students are bypassing the beach this summer and heading back into the classroom. Some say the economy is forcing the traditional school year into the summer as jobs put a squeeze on study time during the winter and spring. Others are knocking out a general education course or two at community college -- hours that will transfer to a four-year university while also shaving hundreds of dollars or more from tuition bills.
