The 26-year-old Jenison resident worried that he'd nod off in class, but not after seeing professor John Kilbourne's latest experiment -- stand-up desks. "I can see myself sitting back and dozing in a regular seat," Shuck said. "But I really enjoy this, and I know it helps me pay attention." Kilbourne, a movement science professor, experimented last year by allowing college students to sit on large exercise balls instead of traditional chairs. Kilbourne allows students in his Movement 101 class to pick whatever form of seating makes them most comfortable.
