Faculty Live In Dorms As Part Of Effort to Engage Students

Ramos and his family left their house in the Heights this fall for a two-bedroom apartment in Cougar Village, a new dorm for freshmen. Two other faculty members, Catherine Horn and Carroll Parrott Blue, moved into nearby Moody Towers. The faculty members don't pay rent, since their participation is considered a service to the university. It is part of the university's efforts to engage students and, ultimately, to improve graduation rates, in part by encouraging more informal interactions with faculty.
