Back-to-school supplies used to mean paper, pencils, and notebooks. Now a new study indicates that almost half of parents -- about 42 percent -- plan to buy electronics or computer-related equipment, including calculators and laptops, for their high-school-age and younger kids this back-to-school season, according to the annual National Retail Federation survey of 8,450 parents, conducted by BIGresearch. Parents' back-to-school tech-buying has more to do with an increasing array of portable tech toys, and teens' love of those toys, than any new gadgets aimed at improving study habits. Read more at:
