A big news item today - and for the week - is the special report on academic libraries in this week's Chronicle. I can't recall when they last did one - if they did one at all. I've known about the coming of this report for a while (hmm, I could have made a prediction last week) since I have a opinion piece in this report. "Electronic Libraries Can't Be Academic" is the title the editors selected though I originally submitted it as "What Is An Academic Library?" If you are familiar with Questia I think you'll enjoy reading this piece. I'm still at the conference so without my Chronicle account I can't read much of the report. I will on Wednesday.
